Greenberry Industrial is seeking Estimators to join our growing teams in Vancouver, WA and Corvallis, OR. ️

Title: Senior Project Estimator

Immediate Supervisor: Greenberry‘s Estimating Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY

Calling all construction estimating experts! Greenberry Industrial is looking for a Construction Project Estimator to join our estimating team. You'll wear two hats in this role: crafting winning estimates and helping identify new business ventures for Greenberry. This includes developing detailed construction estimates for a wide range of industrial projects, like (but not limited to) the following:

  • Excavation
  • Civil/Concrete
  • Structural (Fabrication/Installation)
  • Process Systems
    • Pipe (Fabrication/Installation)
    • Pumps/Motors
    • Other Rotational Equipment (Fans/Blowers)
    • Module Erection

This leadership opportunity seeks a highly motivated individual to assume ownership of the project estimation process. You will be instrumental in ensuring all estimates meticulously align with the company's strategic objectives and performance metrics. The role demands fostering and cultivating robust client relationships across both existing and prospective accounts. Consistent client engagement and collaborative efforts with the business development team are paramount for achieving success. More on the specific responsibilities of this position below.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Oversee estimating process including solicitation of bids from vendors and subcontractors; tracking, follow up and reporting on multiple estimates
  • Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope
  • Ensure the timely completion of estimates within tight deadlines and assigned budgets, including timely reviews with senior management
  • Prepares conceptual budgets based on minimal information
  • Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, and site logistics
  • Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented
  • Reviews and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids; analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative
  • Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations
  • Must be comfortable selling projects and services as well as communicating with customers
  • Actively participates in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This role operates within a well-defined framework, leveraging documented procedures and established company policies with general guidance. You'll demonstrate sound decision-making within these parameters, and your valuable insights are encouraged for strategic planning initiatives. The position demands expertise in navigating complex and multifaceted situations, requiring meticulous attention to detail as accuracy is paramount for financial performance. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit are essential for fostering effective communication with colleagues across departments, project supervisors, and project managers.

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Capable with BIM Model Software (Solidworks, Navisworks, Compress, Strumis, etc..)
  • Tactful and has professional demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors and others;
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills. Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures;
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance;
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Knowledge of the craft jurisdiction required.
  • Experience in the coordination of multiple activities and tasks in multiple disciplines required.
  • Supervisory skills desired
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or similar or equivalent technical training knowledge and experience desired
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in heavy industrial industry preferred
  • Flexible work hours may be considered
  • Some extended hours, travel and overnight stays will be require
