GENERAL SUMMARY
Greenberry Industrial is seeking a qualified Senior Project Estimator to contribute their expertise to our growing estimating team. This crucial position focuses on the development and delivery of construction estimates for a wide range of industrial projects. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Excavation
- Civil/Concrete
- Structural (Fabrication/Installation)
- Process Systems
- Pipe (Fabrication/Installation)
- Pumps/Motors
- Other Rotational Equipment (Fans/Blowers)
- Module Erection
We are seeking a highly motivated leader to spearhead our project estimation function. Your expertise will be paramount in ensuring all estimates meticulously align with the company's strategic vision and key performance indicators (KPIs). This results-oriented role necessitates a proactive approach to business development, fostering and nurturing strong client relationships across our established and target client base. The specific responsibilities of this critical position will be outlined in detail below.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Oversee estimating process including solicitation of bids from vendors and subcontractors; tracking, follow up and reporting on multiple estimates
- Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope
- Ensure the timely completion of estimates within tight deadlines and assigned budgets, including timely reviews with senior management
- Prepares conceptual budgets based on minimal information
- Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, and site logistics
- Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented
- Reviews and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids; analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative
- Builds effective relationships with customers, design team, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations
- Must be comfortable selling projects and services as well as communicating with customers
- Actively participates in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image
This professional role thrives in a structured environment, leveraging well-defined procedures and company policies with general supervision. You'll demonstrate sound judgment within established parameters, and your contributions to long-term planning are encouraged. The position demands expertise in handling intricate situations, requiring meticulous attention to detail as accuracy is paramount for profitability. SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Capable with BIM Model Software (Solidworks, Navisworks, Compress, Strumis, etc..)
- Tactful and has professional demeanor, and ability to interact effectively with managers, employees, vendors and others;
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills. Strong organizational, record-keeping and follow-up skills;
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player.
- Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures;
- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance;
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Knowledge of the craft jurisdiction required.
- Experience in the coordination of multiple activities and tasks in multiple disciplines required.
- Supervisory skills desired
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in heavy industrial industry preferred
- Flexible work hours may be considered
- Some extended hours, travel and overnight stays will be require
