Job Summary
True North Consultants is a growing environmental consulting firm that offers continuing growth, stable leadership, and views employees as valuable resources. We are seeking a self-motivated Senior Environmental Scientist, with 5-8 years of experience, to join our team in Naperville, Illinois, and become an integral part of our continued success. The full-time position will provide task-level support to project managers and engineers.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Environmental Site Assessments - Phase I, Phase II, Soil Characterization (field work)
- Construction Oversight (soil management) & PID screening
- Preparation of field documents (notes, forms, photographs, figures, logs)
- Technical understanding and interpretation of state voluntary clean-up programs and leaking underground storage programs
- Technical report preparation (Phase I, Phase II, Uncontaminated Soil Certifications, PESA, PSI, UST/LUST, Site Remediation Program)
- Communicate project task status, schedule, findings, and recommendations to staff and senior consultants
- Occasionally, you may collaborate with co-workers in other departments.
- Local travel of 60-80% is expected
- Occasional travel out-of-state and 2nd/3rd shift or weekend work may be required from time to time
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: BA/BS in Science Related Discipline
- Years of Experience: 5-8 Years
- Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with AutoCAD and GIS program
- Professional Licenses/Certifications Preferred: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
- A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are also required
- Medical approval by the Company's appointed physician, after employment is accepted, prior to the first day of work

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
