Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Engineer/Analyst (Engineering Policy and Guidance) with demonstrated experience in cutting edge technology, developing Engineering Policy and Guidance and best practices that are essential for warfighting success.

A week in the life of a Senior Engineer/Analyst (Engineering Policy and Guidance):
- Develop and support updates to new and existing DoD Policy and Guidance, as well as industry standards as required, ensure DoD lessons learned and best practices from program assessments across all domain and process areas, are translated into to appropriate policy, guidance and standards required by OUSD(R&E).
- Facilitate and monitor the policies as they progress through the WHS Issuance process.
- Assess proposed issuances and documents, assigned to OUSD(R&E) for review and coordination, and prepare draft comments in coordination matrix format for Government approval and submission.
- Propose recommendations for new and revised guidance necessary to ensure compliance with acquisition, Engineering and T&E policies.
- Prepare periodic updates to guidebooks for both Engineering and T&E as well as contribute to other guidance as necessary, to ensure appropriate Engineering and T&E guidance is addressed.
- Ensure comments submitted against drafted guidance are adequately adjudicated and coordinated with appropriate DoD Components
- Identify areas where program documentation is routinely inconsistent with Engineering Policy and provide recommended Policy and/or guidance changes to the Government Lead for Policy and Workforce in order to resolve these issues.
- Review the Defense Acquisition University's (DAU) courseware to ensure consistency with T&E and Engineering Policy, Guidance, and Standards.
- Develop an enterprise engineering management plan for the NC3 System of Systems to communicate, align, identify, track, and guide key enterprise-level engineering activities.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering or related STEM fields.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- 10 years of experience of systems engineering and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
- Experience:
- Developing and coordinating Engineering Policy and Guidance.
- Applying Engineering practices/principles necessary in the development of DoD systems.
- Supporting technical efforts required to interface with external stakeholders and senior Government personnel.
- With System of Systems (SoS).
- With Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) preferred.
- Must be able to attend classified meetings in person in the DMV area.
- Previous experience with Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
- Previous experience in DoD systems development and evaluation, acquisition Policy and process.
- Excellent writing, communication, and briefing skills.
- Experience in organizing communities of practice that connect the engineering community to solve cross-cutting engineering challenges.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
