Senior Engineer - React

Utilizing our highly advanced software platform, some of the largest health systems in the world are leveraging BlockIt to restore the connection between the provider and the patient. We are helping patients find the care they need by removing the barriers to be cared for and reducing the administrative and technology distractions. The BlockIt solution is focused on patient scheduling and closed loop referral management.

As a Senior React Engineer at Blockit, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our healthcare applications. You will play a key role in driving the product's frontend development and integration strategy. Joining our seasoned startup engineering team, you will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to our greenfield platform.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Design, develop, and enhance features for our React-based web application, being mindful of scalability and user-friendliness.
• Collaborate in the ongoing development and optimization of our frontend architecture.
• Maintain high standards of code quality and ensure robust test coverage.
• Work closely with the engineering team to integrate React components with the existing Elixir microservices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in the development process.
• Adhere with blockit's technology standards, demonstrating a strong dedication to timelines and quality.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with an emphasis on explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for crafting code that is clean, efficient, and easily maintainable, recognizing its vital role in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the application.
• Profound understanding of JavaScript and its ecosystem, coupled with proficiency in React, and adept utilization of state management tools such as Redux. 
• Proficient in employing contemporary front-end tools and practices, ensuring the efficiency and adherence to best practices in applications.
• Strong ability to create interfaces that work seamlessly across various devices, emphasizing the importance of responsive design in user experience.
• Proficient in optimizing React applications for performance, understanding the intricacies of the React framework to enhance application speed and efficiency.
• A strong passion for coding and a commitment to continuous learning in the ever-evolving field of software development.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration abilities, facilitating seamless interaction and synergy within cross-functional teams. 
• Outstanding capabilities in problem-solving and decision-making.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred 

• 5+ years experience designing software and building applications using: 
  • Microservices built in Elixir, connected using GraphQL.
  • React on the frontend (not even a single line jQuery, phew!)
  • Kubernetes on Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Postgres.
  • Github and CircleCI for Development/CD.
  • REST APIs
• Extensive experience in healthcare technology, including familiarity with standards such as HL7 and FHIR, reflecting a deep understanding of the industry's intricacies preferred 
• Experience working in a SaaS, healthcare technology/IT, or healthcare B2B environment highly preferred 
• Experience working in a startup environment is desirable
