Position Purpose: Monitor and improve production in the food manufacturing plant. Assist and provide supervisors with guidance around process and procedural issues. Aid in supervision of the production units resulting in safe and efficient operation, while producing on quality product, in a timely cost-efficient manner.
Maintaining a safe and orderly workplace, by being safe at all times, and ensuring all people around you are working in a safe manner, in accordance with plant procedures.
Have effective communication skills across all disciplines, Safety, Quality, Maintenance, Finance etc.
Create & update safety protocols, procedures & improvements and ensure both training and implementation is complete.
Develop strategies to improve efficiency and profit.
Meeting or exceeding performance standards of assigned production unit including production rate, on-stream time, and raw material efficiency.
Track all materials, equipment, labor, by analyzing & reporting daily production figures.
Assist with the development of personnel. Which includes working with training officer, to develop plans and execution of plant related training.
Ability to trouble shoot the plant and provide guidance to both maintenance and production.
Able to assist with breakdowns & provide guidance after hours and during weekends over phone.
Able to initiate, plan, submit capital, execute, then monitor and control projects. (End to end responsibility).
Meeting or exceeding quality specifications for manufactured products.
Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability and responsiveness to the customer.
Control of working capital and the promotion of inventory control principles.
Maintaining records pertinent to unit operations, preparing regular performance reports, communicating throughout the organization, and convening regular meetings with operating personnel.
Training of assigned personnel and support of these requirements for outside contractors.
Education: bachelor's degree in science/engineering, equivalent.
Chemical engineering preferred.
Required Knowledge: Chemical/food processing.
Experience needed: 7-10 years' experience in chemical or other manufacturing/processing industry. Food manufacturing experience is a great plus.
Skills and Abilities: Analytical, decisive, multi-tasked, and goal-oriented individual is required with the ability to manage time and resources.
SAP knowledge is preferred.
