Summary


Senior Electrical Engineer -Certified licensed Electrical Engineer plus a minimum of ten years of related Electrical Engineering practice experience. Fully competent professional in all conventional and complex aspects of Electrical Engineering projects of all sizes and complexity. Provides leadership and discretion in evaluation, selection and use of standard techniques, and solves problems when encountered in all aspects of Electrical Engineering. Responsible for the oversight of the Electrical Engineering team, including lighting design, power system design and low-voltage system design. Responsible for providing leadership to the collaborative team of engineers while mentoring individuals. Responsible for ensuring quality and accuracy while keeping within project budget.


Requirements


Essential Functions:


  • Licensed Electrical Engineer who is responsible for the creation of bid documents consisting of power, lighting, low-voltage systems on various project typologies
  • Responsible to the creation of bid specifications and provide technical expertise to ensure coordinated and high-quality documents
  • Responsible to conduct periodic site-observations assessments and create detailed observation reports
  • Resolve field coordination issues and provide timely solutions to field problems
  • Review contractor-submitted pay applications
  • Responsible to review and /or create change proposals
  • Responsible for the generation and execution of electrical punch lists, outlining non-conformance electrical construction items
  • Lead the post-construction review process
  • Responsible to follow project budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan with Project Manager
  • Responsible to monitor personal billing and works at maximizing team's quality and efficiency in assigned tasks
  • Responsible to coordinate and bring leadership to meetings with clients, project team, and contractors to ensure trust and confidence
  • Contribute innovative design ideas that consistently capture the intended design vision
  • Contribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and community


Competencies:


  • This position operates in a professional office environment which uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, laptops, phones, photocopiers, large format plotter/scanners, virtual meetings, and virtual technology
  • Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam required
  • Proficiency in Revit Documentation required such as: Basic Element Creation, Measuring, Views and Sheets, Detailing, Dimensions and Rules, Exporting Data, Keynotes and Annotations, Scheduling and Coordination and Orientation
  • Proficient in the use of calculation software such as AGi32, Dialux, EASE, EDR , IPVM and SKM Power Tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of National CAD Standards including the National BIM Standards
  • Familiar with CPM and Gantt charts and the ability to determine contractor performance as compared to schedule
  • Familiarity with the application of and compliance with international codes, NEC, Life Safety, WAC and NFPA codes associated with electrical construction
  • Aptitude to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Ability to meet schedule deadlines and work within the project budget
  • Working, hands-on knowledge of electrical design and construction concepts from engineering through construction implementation
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, negotiation skills and strong intentional organization
  • Strong and intuitive application of mathematics
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, flexible, adaptable, and professional work ethic
  • Positive attitude, desire to learn and grow, self-motivated and regularly provides leadership in a group environment


Certification Requirements

  • Certified Electrical Engineering License
  • BICSI Certification preferred
  • CTS Certification preferred
  • Lighting Certification (NCQLP) preferred
  • Journeyman-Electrician license a plus

Supervisory Requirements

  • May offer guidance for project associates or interns as needed

Work Environment

  • This position operates in a professional open office environment with low to moderate noise levels including collaborative work areas for team meetings. Each office location has a workstation for scanning/ photocopying and a cafe for dining. Building construction sites may include varying temperatures, wind, dust, and noise levels and may include hazardous and dirty conditions.

Physical Demands

  • Hand/Wrist/Finger dexterity for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week
  • Ability to lift a set of construction documents
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time

Position/Hours expected to work

  • This is a full-time position with the expectation of working a minimum of 40 hours per week

Travel

  • Rare amount of travel

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering university required
  • A minimum of ten years of Electrical Engineering related experience
