Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical CAD Designer to support the rapid growth of the rails transit systems section and projects across North America. The successful candidate will work under the direction of an Engineering Manager and/or a Senior Traction Power Engineer to develop AutoCAD drawings for the electrical power system and traction power system group. This includes systems such as communication, ATC, and any other relevant components.
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Clients benefit from the proven processes and tools used by Kiewit to minimize project risk. We are an in-house resource that supports projects throughout the company. This position is based out of either Chicago, Illinois or McLean, Virginia with flexible work schedule. Other locations near Kiewit major Hub locations maybe considered.
- Develop AUTOCAD electrical drawings for rail transit systems.
- Create 3D Revit Model for Rail facilities.
- Perform field survey when required.
- Review CAD electrical requirements from the clients and develop internal CAD standards for a project.
- Provides potential solutions to complex issues.
- Reviews the work of designers developing documents as needed for the project.
- Acts independently to utilize industry and company standards to design effectively. No supervision required to apply standard correctly to design.
- Reviews application of electrical standards and can make suggestions on improvements needed
- Serves as a resource to Rail Transit Systems department, projects and construction
- Associate degree in electrical engineering or related engineering fields.
- 10+ years' CAD electrical engineering design experience required.
- CAD electrical design experience on Rail Transit related projects is highly desirable.
- Must be proficient in 2D and/or 3D AUTOCAD software on the electrical design side.
- Proficient in MS office suite.
- Revit and MicroStation with electrical design experience, preferred.
- Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
- Communicates effectively with supervisor and members of immediate department.
- Works collaboratively across departments and involves others in solving problems.
- Supports project teams and departments in a positive and productive manner. Works well with other to accomplish common goals and objectives.
- Serves as technical resource to engineers, designers and construction.
