Summary
CHS is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our team.
Day to day responsibilities for this Manager would include leading and developing a team of six Regional Managers with an overall team of 50 Safety Specialists and Coordinators, across 16 states. In this role you will participate in the development and execution of EHS Strategy and programs.
This role is based in Inver Grove Heights, MN with the ability to work in a hybrid capacity two days a week. Relocation packages are available to those candidates that meet qualifications for our relocation program.
Responsibilities
- Lead and provide professional direction to Regional EHS Managers and business unit EHS professionals across the division. Mentor, manage and develop team members. Examples of duties include but not limited to: Annual reviews, hiring, evaluating performance, initiating performance improvement plans where necessary, setting goals and priorities, coaching employees, etc.
- Review current written programs, trainings, and procedures and facilitate the continuous improvement process to meet regulatory requirements, CHS requirements and user needs.
- Collaborate with Vice Presidents of Operations and Regional EHS Managers regarding EHS strategic plans, capital expenditures, and divisional initiatives.
- Present EHS metrics, training, and initiatives at leadership meetings
- Provide leadership teams with periodic reports and updates on division's progress
- Evaluate EHS scorecard and conduct analysis of business unit(s) to create and provide input for strategic direction of the overall EHS program.
- Conduct EHS audits and site inspections, report writing, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective action plans
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek methods to address the hazard
- Collaborate with Regional EHS Managers in response to audit and loss control inspections; ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Collaborate with EHS team members on regulatory interactions and responses
- Respond to emergencies or significant environmental and safety concerns within the division
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience in Environmental, Health and Safety
- 3+ years of direct supervisor experience
- Ability to travel 30-40% of time
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Ag Business, Environmental, Health, and Safety or other related programs
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Certified Employee Training Program - Propane (CETP)
- Hazardous Materials Manager (HMM)
