Career Title: Senior Editor
Department: Measurement Services (ANCC)
Salary Hiring Range: $70,000,000-80,000 annually (paid bi-weekly)
Union Dues: 1.44% of your bi-weekly pay
FLSA: Exempt
Career Summary:
Ensures validity, reliability, and psychometric soundness of certification programs, using established industry best practices. Serves as a technical expert in test development. Maintains pool of exam items; leads test development activities; conducts exam-related research; and editorial standards for Measurement Services (MS). Provides department-wide editorial services. Drafts technical reports. Assists with acquisition of reference materials and development of reference lists.
Education/Related Work Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, English, or related field.
- Six years of editorial experience or equivalent. Four years managing projects or training others. Two years in technical report or proposal writing. Experience in item pool development, item reviews, and form development.
Skills:
Editing; item writing; meeting facilitation; oral and written communication; use of office computer software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and public relations and customer service.
Additional Qualifications: Ability to organize, manage, and complete multiple ongoing projects and tasks; accurately attend to details; adapt to changing priorities and work demands; take initiative; work autonomously with limited supervision; and work collaboratively and effectively within a team.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience with writing items for assessments, using item banking software, training adults, and conducting research. Experience in and/or familiarity with nursing/medical terminology and concepts. Experience in licensure or certification for a professional association, national testing agency, educational institution, or regulatory agency.
Work Schedule:
Hybrid: Employees are considered Hybrid if they are regularly scheduled to work in at least 20% of their work week or work month in an ANA Enterprise Office.
Hybrid employees are expected to travel to the office when requested and/or when necessary to achieve results or meet business needs.
