AMEWAS, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and talented ACO Editor-Senior to support the Airworthiness Cybersafe Office. This position is classified as AMEWAS labor category Technical Writer.

A typical day as an ACO Editor-Senior may include: Leads daily stand-up meetings with editorial team Creates and updates NATOPS flight manuals and derivatives Incorporates data into XML format received from subject matter experts and other sources Reviews format and layouts of manuals to ensure accuracy of draft and final products for varied government deliverables Evaluates NATOPS products for data integrity and other possible discrepancies Monitors progress of government deliverables using planning and tracking software Travels to support NATOPS conferences Participates in draft reviews and working groups Must-haves: Technical/Scientific BS/BAS/BA Degree from an accredited college or university 10 years of relevant work experience Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices and procedures The ability to use previous experience/judgment to plan/accomplish goals and independently perform a wide variety of complicated tasks Ability to provide consultation on complex projects and be considered the top-level contributor/specialist Ability to lead and direct the work of others Comfortable reporting to an executive or director Prior experience with ArborText XML Editor Knowledge of PDF authoring programs such as Adobe Acrobat Experience with office software such as Microsoft Office Experience with Naval Airworthiness Style Guides, MIL-DTL, Standard work Packages, NATOPS/NATIP, Broadvision Creating and disseminating tasks for a project Corresponding with customers to ensure project plans are up-to-date Maintaining open communication through project life cycle The ability to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired Skills: Knowledge of HTML and XML Familiarity with version control systems Previous experience working in an Agile work environment Familiar with Arbortext Skills crucial to success at AMEWAS, Inc.: Customer-focused attitude with high level of professionalism and discretion. Ability to work effectively with management and part of a team to meet targets.

Is reliable, possesses initiative, and works well as an individual or part of a team. Physical environment and working conditions: The physical environment requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable.

The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site.
