At a Glance

Legrand
has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director of Financeto join the Lighting Sector Kenall Team. This is a Hybrid position in Kenosha, WI. As part of the executive management team, the Senior Director of Finance is responsible for the financial leadership and strategic financial planning of the business unit. They direct the finance and accounting teams following International Financial Reporting Standards, and the internal controls and compliance programs coordinated with the Legrand Internal Audit department. The Senior Director of Finance reports to the Lighting Sector VP, Finance. They have dotted line reporting to the brand Presidents and key relationships with the Lighting Sector VP, Operations. They serve as a business partner to the Presidents, and VP of Operations in forming and executing the strategic plan.

What Will You Do?
  • Oversees all functions within the finance operation of the business unit, including accounts payable/receivable, credit and collections, general accounting, internal controls, financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, and treasury.
  • Defines structure, roles, and responsibilities of Finance organization in coordination Lighting Sector VP, Finance. Selects, manages, develops, and evaluates the performance of Finance staff; recommends and implements personnel actions.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and financial reports required by the organization or regulatory agencies promptly.
  • Recommends and develops policies, procedures, and systems to meet short and long term financial objectives. Anticipates the effect of these changes and communicates impact to stakeholders.
  • Ensures an accounting control environment is in place to support SOX compliance and meet or exceed internal audit requirements and annual SOX testing.
  • Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Conducts or coordinates audits of entity accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes and takes appropriate corrective actions as required.
  • Performs work on strategic projects and other similar and related duties as required.
Qualifications:
Required Skills

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA highly desired.
Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years progressive finance experience. At least five years of operations finance and accounting management (i.e., VP, director, controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager).
  • 5+ years manufacturing accounting/finance experience required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Knowledge and proven application of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership practices, production methods, and coordination of people and resources and an intense, goal-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team and successfully develop staff members.
  • Collaborative – recognized for effective relationship building skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, analyze complex financial situations, and implement corrective actions at both the strategic and functional level.
  • Strong operations finance and general accounting or finance background.
  • High energy; a can-do attitude when challenges occur.
  • Naturally takes on challenging assignments.
  • Strong organizational values and integrity.
  • Speaks with confidence – carries him or herself with executive presence.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Expert-level, Microsoft Excel skills are a plus.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions.
  • Limited travel within North America.
