Senior Director, Marketing Operations and Digital Transformation
The ASU Outreach Hub is dedicated to connecting more constituents in impactful ways using data-derived insights, integrated and collaborative approaches and advanced outreach techniques in support of the ASU Public Enterprise.
The Senior Director, Marketing Operations and Digital Transformation works under the direction of the Associate Vice President, Marketing Solutions within the ASU Outreach Hub and is an innovative strategic leader who drives forward the development, oversight and execution of strategic marketing projects and campaigns, and directs the organization's digital marketing strategy and transformation initiatives to advance outreach goals. This role combines expertise in omnichannel engagement strategy and implementation, digital marketing and project management, leveraging data, marketing technology and subject matter expertise to maximize audience engagement and success.
What you'll do:
  • Drives omnichannel strategy and planning for digital marketing solutions that support the marketing vision, strategy and messaging campaigns to advance the outreach and transactional needs of ASU Enterprise Partners and the ASU Public Enterprise
  • Serves as a key facilitator and leads the activities of the Marketing Operations team, which includes Digital Transformation and Project Management, to inspire and deliver on long-term strategic goals and immediate business objectives
  • Responsible for leading the execution of campaign strategies and other marketing project objectives to reach desired results
  • Certifies the on-time and on-budget completion of a wide range of strategic marketing projects with constantly shifting priorities; supports project planning and execution
  • Ensures seamless execution of campaigns and projects, including but not limited to kickoff, timeline management, reviews/approvals, quality assurance, and production
  • Identifies, drives, develops and deploys digital omnichannel marketing strategies and solutions based on business needs and priorities, customer insights and industry trends
  • Defines the future state digital marketing needs and requirements, overseeing reporting and collaborating with technology team members on architecture, integration and execution plans to measure and improve audience engagement
  • Uses project management methods and approaches to problem solve and evolve processes to optimize and track workflows
  • Leverages digital technologies to advance strategic partnerships that drive brand relevance and traffic to the portfolio
  • In collaboration with other cross-functional teams, develops and plans business use cases to drive strategies to achieve our current and long-term vision for personalized user experiences
  • Leverages AI and machine learning to personalize marketing campaigns and optimize performance and effectiveness of digital channels
  • Develops KPIs to define and measure the health of customer journeys and ensures evaluation mechanisms are in place for continuous improvement
  • Identifies process improvements needed to ensure accuracy, efficiency and agility; evaluates and improves end-to-end experiences and customer touch points
  • Influences, collaborates and interacts proactively and effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels across the organization to align on operational objectives and provide consistent leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Leads, directs and develops the email marketing community across the ASU enterprise
  • Hires, motivates, inspires and retains employees to do their best work through coaching, development and morale building
  • Represents the Outreach Hub effectively on various relevant university committees and working groups

What you'll need:
  • Strong understanding of marketing technologies and channels including but not limited to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, CommerceCloud, customer data platform such as Tealium, SMS integration, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use multiple marketing technology tools and systems
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, software and systems
  • Ability to develop strategies and recommendations to advance outreach and engagement with multiple audiences across channels
  • Ability to think critically, strategically and make data-driven decisions
  • Process oriented; high attention to detail
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and look for ways to take performance to new levels
  • Strong cross functional leadership skills and the ability to influence in a matrixed structure across a broad range of partners and contributors

  • Evaluate and recommend new data, techniques, technologies and/or channels
  • Continuously find ways to move with agility and purpose and push the boundaries of our capability today to envision tomorrow; strong time management skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information

Relevant qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, digital technologies or related field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in solutions strategy, digital product marketing and management of digital outreach and engagement, including five (5) years of project planning and management experience in a marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Marketing Operations, ecommerce or a related field, focused on driving the development, execution and analysis of omnichannel marketing projects and programs
  • Proven experience managing and executing cross-discipline implementations, leading digital strategy, organizational communication, roll-out and measurement

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in business administration, marketing, digital technologies or related field
  • PMP Certification (or similar)
  • Experience working in higher education and/or a marketing or advertising services agency
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced, high-volume marketing organization

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced knowledge of Wrike project management system
