Our Digital Product Office (DPO) is seeking aSenior Director of Enterprise Architecture & Governance who can provide strategic leadership and support to architecture and solutioning decisions across different product development initiatives.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation of best-practice product development and delivery processes to deliver best in class SaaS products that meet the needs of the Life Sciences industry. You will be expected to identify and mitigate the risk associated with the different SaaS products and Technology Enabled Services being developed and deployed across IQVIA and ensure that development teams are using the right technology for the right purpose, at the right price point.
In addition, you will need to have a holistic view of development initiatives and ensure alignment where possible, while also avoiding duplication of efforts across different teams. Your experience and expertise will also help you keep an eye out for new technologies being developed in the market and make recommendations on which ones to adopt.
As a Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture & Governance, we expect you to have a strong technical background in cloud architecture and a solid understanding of business acumen and leadership skills. You will use your expertise to guide the technical vision for the company and shape the technology strategy to support our portfolio of cloud, applications data, data-centric applications, AI/ML, and Big-Data analytics.
In summary, the successful candidate for this role will be an experienced enterprise architect and technical leader with a proven track record of driving architecture and solutioning decisions across multiple product development initiatives. You should be able to manage risk, technology obsolescence, and drive architecture and component reuse, while also keeping up to date with new technologies and making recommendations to adopt them where appropriate.
In this role you will:
- Guide the technical vision for the company and shape technology strategy to support our portfolio of cloud, applications data, data-centric applications, AI/ML and/or Big-Data analytics
- Keep a pulse on the company's development stack and related technologies to ensure our architecture and design stays current and competitive
- Mitigate risk by managing component inventory and actively managing tech obsolescence across our technology portfolio
- Drive innovation through evaluation and adoption of new cloud architectures and designs
- Identify, evaluate and drive strategic technology partnerships to accelerate development speed, reduce total cost of ownership, improve performance etc
- Create and maintain an effective business and technical cloud strategy that aligns to DPO's products, platforms, and solutions to drive growth and simplify execution
- Lead the virtual Center of Excellence in guiding, reviewing, and approving the technical architecture and design of various product development initiatives with a goal to:
- Meet and engage early with product, platform and solution teams to define product priorities/requirements and to translate them into the right architectures and designs
- Harmonize design and maximize component reuse across different development teams
- Provide best in class performance, scalability and security while minimizing costs
- Support evolution of solution architectures to ensure that they support continued growth and modernization of current data repositories and growing pool of internal/external stakeholders
- Spearhead innovation, continuous improvement, and advocate Community Driven Engineering to drive collaboration and knowledge sharing between the different product teams
- Garner consensus and buy-in across technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders for strategic technical program decisions
- Lead the product programs technical strategy, briefings, and ensures program execution to technical milestones
To do this you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, designing and architecting (minimum of 3+ categories): large cloud scale applications, data-centric engineering, cloud engineering, AI/ML, and/or DevSecOps solutions.
- Expert in decomposing application components and determining how to leverage various technologies found with modern cloud services
- Hands on experience in taking disparate business problems and delivering the best technology solutions for large scale cloud solutions
- 10+ years implementing engineering best practices, iterative/continuous engineering principles
- Experience with designing secure data solutions with PHI and PII.
- Experienced in collaborating with customers and stakeholders to present solutions to the user/stakeholder community and gain user adoption
- Ability to design cost-optimized cloud scalable solutions and fix architecture issues that impact scalability and performance for large systems with large datasets
- Proven technical leadership as a complex program technical lead
- Experience with Agile project collaboration tools e.g. Atlassian Jira/Confluence
- Excellent verbal and written communication
