Job Description:
The Senior Direct Sales Representative for our Energy team is an outside sales opportunity with assigned accounts across US territory. This position will cover the energy wholesale market and leverage the DTN product suite across Refined Fuels. You will also work closely with existing sales team and build on their experience.
Essential Functions:
  • Contacting large energy producers, energy supply chain providers, and refined fuel wholesalers to promote DTN energy information services and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain new accounts and existing customer relationships. Will spend 70% of time on product upsells to existing clients.
  • Use a consultative sales approach to understand the needs of the energy prospect or customer to demonstrate the value of the DTN products, insights, and services.
  • Engaging communication with active listening and problem solving for customers to understand their unmet needs and how DTN solutions may be of benefit and serve those needs.
  • Create presentations and solution proposals using Microsoft Power Point, and demonstrate products in person or via Web Meeting.
  • Manage a pipeline of new business as well as increase spend on existing customers.
  • Identify and communicate sales opportunities through use of CRM system.
  • Visiting prospective clients and existing customers in the assigned territory with approximate travel at 40% rate within assigned territory
  • Customer responsive and service focused.
  • As part of a performance-based team, the Senior Direct Sales Representative will be required to meet or exceed sales plan.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of sales and territory management experience.
  • Software and Information as a Service sales experience is a plus.
  • Must be assertive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, problem solving, and solutions selling.
  • Self-starter with proven track record of delivering sales results.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, environment and handle multiple concurrent projects.
DTN is at the center of the downstream oil and gas supply chain — managing more than 80% of the pricing and billing transaction interchange conducted in North America every day. Our focus is bringing upstream information and downstream intelligence together, so customers can optimize business decisions.
The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $80,000 and $100,000 annually. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
