- Contacting large energy producers, energy supply chain providers, and refined fuel wholesalers to promote DTN energy information services and solutions.
- Develop and maintain new accounts and existing customer relationships. Will spend 70% of time on product upsells to existing clients.
- Use a consultative sales approach to understand the needs of the energy prospect or customer to demonstrate the value of the DTN products, insights, and services.
- Engaging communication with active listening and problem solving for customers to understand their unmet needs and how DTN solutions may be of benefit and serve those needs.
- Create presentations and solution proposals using Microsoft Power Point, and demonstrate products in person or via Web Meeting.
- Manage a pipeline of new business as well as increase spend on existing customers.
- Identify and communicate sales opportunities through use of CRM system.
- Visiting prospective clients and existing customers in the assigned territory with approximate travel at 40% rate within assigned territory
- Customer responsive and service focused.
- As part of a performance-based team, the Senior Direct Sales Representative will be required to meet or exceed sales plan.
- 5+ years of sales and territory management experience.
- Software and Information as a Service sales experience is a plus.
- Must be assertive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated strengths in relationship building, problem solving, and solutions selling.
- Self-starter with proven track record of delivering sales results.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, environment and handle multiple concurrent projects.
