This role is based in G-Research's office in Dallas. Opened in 2022, the Dallas office is a key infrastructure hub where we work on the latest technologies in a cutting-edge environment.
The Role
Armada is a multi-cluster Kubernetes batch job scheduler, built and maintained by the Batch Engineering team at G-Research, which executes millions of batch jobs a day on our compute farms. It has recently been accepted by the CNCF where it currently has incubator project status.
The Batch Engineering team, which is part of our Platform as a Service (PaaS) function, is seeking a passionate DevOps Engineer to join our expanding global team in Dallas. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement with the goal of achieving faster and more reliable software delivery while maintain stability and security throughout the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Fostering an environment of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
- Supporting with the delivery of Everything as Code
- Monitoring and Logging
- Managing and delivering automation
- Supporting with security across the estate
- Managing release processes and lifecycle
- Training and knowledge sharing across the team
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Demonstrable ability in programming or scripting languages, ideally Python
- A strong eye for process improvement and a proven record of accomplishment in automation
- The ability to understand complex systems quickly and to improve processes proactively
- The capability to handle multiple stakeholders, multitasking, and prioritise competing workloads
- Strong communication skills
The following skills and experiences are beneficial, but not essential:
- Previous experience of process automation, service operations monitoring, CI/CD, batch computing and Kubernetes
