Description
Fisher Associates is seeking a mid-level Senior Designerto join our Energy Group. The Senior Designer is responsible for designing and producing deliverables to represent the client objective that meet jurisdictional requirements and quality control standards for Energy group projects.

The primary function of this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

- Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
- Design and prepare plans for all aspects of energy projects.
- Prepare accurate, quality engineering drawings and presentation figures.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create plans and other design plans for energy projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers on energy projects.
- Determine project design requirements including layouts, client design standards and specifications.
- Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed design drawings from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet company and industry standards and codes.
- Work closely with Engineers, Designers, and other Team Members to ensure coordination design effort is maintained.
- Attend project kick off meetings.
- Maintain library of standard details for clients.
- Mentor junior staff and provide training for junior staff.
- Remain up to date on current software releases and process improvements.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Technical Illustrations, or related field.
- 8-15 years minimum of energy design experience.
- Complete understanding of AutoCAD/Civil 3d, Proficient in MS Office programs. Microstation experience is a plus.
- Experience with DOT permitting.
- Experience with NYS Article 7 requirements.
- Experience with National Grid, National Fuel Gas, and other utility projects.
- Experience with Land Development, Utility Design and Permitting, or Renewable Energy Design Preferred.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 annually
Actual compensation may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications/education, and other factors.
