RenewAire was the first innovator in Energy Recovery Ventilation with static-core technology in North America. Our systems are known for their ease of use, reliability and energy savings. We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join the New Product Development (NPD) team to produce a high level of CAD design for New Products and projects.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Generate elements of product design by preparing virtual models and assemblies of parts and products under Product Development along with required drawings (assembly, subassembly and piece part drawings).
- Designs parts and products using Solid Works to acheive project goals: fit and function, ease of manufacturing, reduced costs, and use of common parts.
- Assist in the maintenance of and implementation of New Products by programming in RenewAire’s web-based product selection tool.
- Facilitates design reviews to discuss concepts and proposed product designs.
- Assists in determining root causes to problems and aids in the resolution of problems as they pertain to the NPD function.
- Follows administrative functions and prepares necessary forms to be used in the New Product release process i.e. Item masters, change control process, etc.
- Prepares test plans, analyze data from tests of prototypes, propose design changes, modify designs and re-test.
- Searches out new components, hardware, etc. for use in New Products or to improve existing products.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to obtain quotations and vendor qualifications.
- Works with Operations team to design for manufacturability.
- Prepares drawings for use in product literature and Marketing needs.
- Occasional clarification of existing part drawings for vendor use. Explains drawing to vendor, revises drawing to remove ambiguity, or change part. Issue part revision where appropriate.
- As necessary checks received parts for conformance to our specifications.
- Stays technically current of new developments in technologies used in our products.
WHO YOU ARE:
- BS Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5-10 years design experience (SolidWorks experience desired)
- Programming knowledge and previous experience required. JavaScript programming experience desired.
- Previous experience designing heating, cooling, fan or blower equipment preferred
- Sheet metal design experience a plus
- Intermediate level Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project skills
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. No VISA sponsorship available.
