Job description

OverviewAs a Senior Database Administrator, you will design, install, monitor, tune, and maintain all production databases to ensure a high level of data availability, and to maximize database uptime. You will ensure that proper backup and disaster recovery techniques are in place. You will also provide guidance to other Database Administrators in the group and provide consultation on complex projects.ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day technical operations and product management, monitoring database performance, configuration, maintenance, and repairs.

Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers. Consult with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Identify industry best practices for database optimization, performance, and efficiency, and manage implementation of practices in accordance with Company requirements.

Proactively monitor database performance while identifying database performance and tuning measures for applications, systems, and queries. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues.

Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data asset. Install and configure relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity. Monitor, optimize, and allocate physical data storage for database systems.

Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Perform database transaction and security audits. Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.

Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems. Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing process for modifications to databases. Responsible for communicating and working with external vendors for product and service research and support.QualificationsFor this role, you will need an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience; 4 years of relevant work experience, previous experience troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading PC hardware and software, and Jira or other Service Management software experience.

We would prefer you to have 6 years of relevant work experience as well as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) designation, A+ (CompTIA).Employment Type: FULL_TIME
