As ServiceNow continues its unprecedented growth, the company seeks to further establish its data and advanced analytics foundation and capabilities. We are building a mathematical enterprise for ServiceNow, leveraging all the data signals across the enterprise to guide business decisions. The Senior Insights Analyst will be a part of our Product, Platform & Success Analytics team, and help drive a data driven approach to shaping our digital customer success experience. This role will be responsible for quantifying feature, app and product value using user behavior, product event and workflow/process data.
This role needs an understanding of product/web analytics, business analysis, KPI development, data engineering and visualization, and will be reporting to the Head of Customer Success Analytics.
We are looking for a talented individual with a strategic viewpoint who can grow and adapt along with our fast-paced business. The ideal candidate is relentlessly curious, has high analytical capability and is passionate about enabling data and experimentation driven product optimization. This individual is energized by creating actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders and is highly collaborative with both business and technical audiences at all levels of the organization.

For positions in California (outside of the Bay Area), we offer a base pay of $109,400 - $185,900, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location. For individuals who will be working in the Bay Area, there is a pay enhancement for positions located in that geographical area; please contact your recruiter for additional information.

What you get to do in this role:
- Understand product & feature roadmaps, define KPIs and product success measures, and work with engineering & product teams to develop product instrumentation and telemetry needs
- Drive analysis and conduct in-depth studies on product & business performance. Take ownership and proactively identify trends and anomalies using a range of statistical methods, both univariate and multivariate, to establish correlations and causality.
- Utilize your expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization to go beyond the numbers. Transform raw data and model output into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with key business leaders, providing them with analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Help them understand the significance and implications of taking action or not.
- Enhance digital product experience by identifying and executing initiatives that improve efficiency, overcome obstacles, and introduce enhanced processes and approaches to the business. This includes leveraging tools and technologies to optimize workflows, user navigation and experience
- Foster cross-functional relationships and leverage available resources to tackle complex interdisciplinary problems on behalf of the business. Proactively identify areas that require deeper analysis and initiate further study.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business or a related field). Master's Degree is a plus.
- 5-8 years of prior experience in business, analytics, data science and/or research or equivalent
- Proven track record of using data to drive business decisions including the ability to structure problems for analysis, analyze the data, and provide actionable recommendations through effective and compelling storytelling
- Experience with data & experimentation led product optimization, establishing program and product KPIs, blending quantitative and qualitative data to help build a product narrative and a strong understanding of business processes/ workflows
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with a high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand. Demonstrated passion for connecting the dots, digging deeper to uncover stories and trends in data, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively across different functions
- Experience with Python, R or equivalent.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics or any similar web analytics tool from an implementation and from a power user perspective, a must
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI (or similar analytical packages) a plus
