The Senior Data Entry Clerk will process all incoming/outgoing mail against contracted timelines. They will sort incoming medical claims and non-claim documents to be processed against contracted timelines. This person electronically keys, codes, and verifies all claims and non-claims entered uploaded into OCR software against contracted timelines. This person will also perform coding and hand stuffing tasks.

As a Senior Data Entry Clerk, most of your day will be spent doing Data Entry or "keying" using a keyboard. You will eventually move into preparation work by coding and scanning documents and preparing them for shipment to the client. Metrics include a less than 1% fail (error) rate when keying information.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 45 Commerce Drive, Suite 5 Augusta, ME 04330.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be 8am - 5pm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data entry of claims and non-claim items using OCR software while meeting SLA process time
  • Open mail and sort claims by type HCFA, UB, or ADA and if there is an attached or required TPL/cross over insurance form.
  • Complete a coding form for all claims that have TPL or cross-over insurance and attach to claim
  • Prepping/Patching of claims for scanning
  • Hand stuff Remittance Advises (RA's), mailings that include 10 pages, multiple objects like inserts or specialty color paper, or legal sized will require staff to manually stuff in corresponding size envelopes.
  • QA process of outgoing mail
  • Other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma OR equivalent work experience
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data Entry
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
