This individual will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to visitors at Penn Museum, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. Additionally, this person will be the point person with the client; the client interaction includes QBR presentations, menu approvals, and overall business function.
Key Responsibilities:Provide oversight of all aspects of food service operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the establishment.
- Supervise and mentor staff, including servers, kitchen personnel, and support staff, fostering a cohesive and productive team.
- Uphold and enhance the overall customer experience, maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere for museum patrons.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure menu quality, consistency, and cost control, emphasizing a commitment to excellence.
- Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe and hygienic dining environment.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relationships, with a focus on sourcing local food products.
- Develop and execute strategies to optimize revenue, including event planning, marketing, and pricing strategies.
- Monitor financial performance, including P&L accountability, and implement cost-effective measures to maximize profitability.
- Engage with clients and museum management to address their needs and preferences, building positive relationships.
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement in service, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in restaurant management or a similar leadership role.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Possess a deep understanding of food and hospitality industry best practices.
- Strong financial acumen, with prior P&L accountability and experience in contract-managed services being desirable.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective team collaboration and client interactions.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation.
- Flexibility and adaptability to address the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the Penn Museum setting.
