  • Hiring Pay Range: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 annualized
    • The hiring pay range for this position is commensurate with the level of relevant experience and education.

Summary

  • Manage and conduct activities related to the company's loan review process to help preserve the ability and capacity of ANB Bank's (Bank) lenders to extend credit to creditworthy borrowers, minimize losses, maintain sufficient credit loss reserves, and confirm whethercompany lending practices conform to established policy and applicable regulation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct ongoing Credit Risk assessments for all regions and credit-related departments. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing credit files for risk assessment, proper documentation, and quality of analysis and underwriting, and management of credit.
  • Review and assess the following credit processes at individual banks:
    • Risk rating effectiveness
    • Credit monitoring
    • Compliance with underwriting standards
    • Credit analysis and presentation
    • Loan structure
    • Problem loan administration
    • Legal credit file documentation
    • Credit file quality
    • Policy compliance
    • Compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Advise on the adequacy of both the Bank's Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) balance and the associated narrative support based on findings and conclusions from regular Credit Risk Reviews and ongoing review of management-prepared reports.
  • Act as the lead credit Review Officer, or supervise loan review staff, during Credit Risk Reviews for the Bank. This entails planning the review, preparing a written report summarizing review findings, and conducting the exit meetings with bank management and reviewing the final reports with the Board of Directors.
  • Follow-up as necessary on outstanding concerns identified at Credit Risk Reviews to ensure management is sufficiently addressing identified problems and correcting outstanding issues.
  • Research issues and/or questions relating to credit, Credit Risk assessment, regulatory requirements, and credit administration.
  • Consult executive management, as requested, regarding Credit Risk issues and concerns.
  • Effectively interact with employees and senior management to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, quality of service, and problem resolution.
  • Present and discuss credit and review information to regulators and auditors as requested.
  • Coach, lead, motivate, and oversee Credit Risk Review department and employees, including, but not limited to preparing written annual performance appraisals, providing ongoing feedback regarding performance, influence change and culture enhancement, and providing direction on assignments.
  • Provide input to CEO (or designee) on Credit Risk Review department's annual budget. Manage department to stay within approved budget.
  • Develop audit objectives, plans and scope consistent with:
    • Regulatory requirements
    • The Credit Risk Review Policy
    • As requested by the Bank's Board, management and/or internal/external auditors
  • Involvement in company and community leadership initiatives to support the company's Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements, as well as knowledge and consistent compliance with other banking regulations, Bank policies, and procedures related to the position.
  • Maintain confidentiality and deliver high quality of service as defined by department standards.
  • Other duties that may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum 10+ years of credit experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
