Senior Counsel - North American Trucking (Hybrid)

What We Need:
A Global Leader in Business Payments is seeking to recruit a Senior Counsel for its North American Trucking division. For over 50 years, our North American Trucking business has been a leader in providing innovative payments solutions for the over-the-road trucking industry and fuel merchants.
This position is located in either Atlanta, GA or Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will be reporting to the SVP, General Counsel – North American Fuel. The successful candidate will serve as the primary legal counsel supporting the legal needs of the North American Trucking division through coordination with internal SMEs, outside resources, and other internal/external stakeholders.
How We Work
Either ‘in person' 5 days or ‘hybrid' (3 days in office in either Atlanta or Brentwood, and 2 days work-from-home).
Role Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the role will include:

• Provide strategic and practical advice to business partners across the North American Trucking division.
• Coordinate with a team of legal and compliance professionals to provide comprehensive legal support for the North American Trucking division while supporting revenue-growing initiatives.
• Partner closely with business leadership, compliance, and other internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and bank partner requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements with high-value customers, key partnerships, and other strategic relationships.
• Review sales and marketing collateral to ensure compliance with all laws, bank partner requirements, and internal policies.
• Provide specific advice on relevant laws, rules, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
• Act as a subject matter expert while providing legal guidance to business clients and other team members.

Qualifications & Skills:

• J.D. degree and active law license
• 7+ years of law firm or in-house counsel experience; financial services or fintech experience is a plus.
