Job Summary
Southwire is seeking to hire an experienced and highly skilled litigation attorney. The Senior Counsel, Litigation, position is responsible for successfully managing litigation and claims involving the Company and providing advice and counsel to the business on a broad range of quality, product safety and product compliance matters. The Senior Counsel will be part of a team of legal professionals with a mission to deliver top-quality, strategic and cost-conscious legal solutions to business issues, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and drive value to the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive partner who can support a wide assortment of day-to-day needs and long-term projects and will have prior experience representing manufacturing companies.
Key Responsibility

  • Provide sound, balanced, legal advice and counsel to Southwire about the Company's claims, litigation, quality, product safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental matters by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal and business issues, and report to senior management regarding the status of same.
  • Retain and effectively oversee outside counsel as needed to align with and achieve the Company's strategic business objectives, coordinating with the appropriate Southwire subject matter experts to generate successful and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Provide advice on product development and marketing activities as they relate to quality, regulatory compliance, and product safety issues.
  • Provide counsel in responding to and managing agency inquiries and inspections and support the handling of quality events.
  • Partner with internal business clients to assess legal risks and develop strategic solutions to protect the company's interests.
  • Manage a high volume of legal projects and ensure that key information is communicated to necessary stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Doctorate, Juris Doctorate from accredited U.S. law school.
  • State bar membership in good standing in at least one state.
  • 10+ years litigation experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Sound and pragmatic business judgment.
  • Ability to deal effectively with strategic issues and tactical operational details.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under time pressure.
  • Drive for efficiency and process improvement.
  • Strategic thinker who can deliver value to clients and find creative solutions to complex legal problems.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Minimum Education Level: Doctorate
Specialized Degree: Juris Doctorate from accredited U.S. law school
Certificates: State bar membership in good standing in at least one state
Years of Experience: 10+

Travel: Domestic % of Time: Up to 25%
Workplace Setting: Hybrid (2-3 days a week On Site)
Location: The Battery, ATL GA or HQ, Carrollton GA.
