Under the supervision of the Associate General Counsel - Employment, the Senior Counsel will work in a fast-paced setting, providing counsel regarding employment issues and related matters. In this role, you will review employment agreements; work with and serve as a liaison to outside counsel regarding employment litigation, employee benefits, and other related matters. Participate in meetings and research relevant laws, as needed; and lead and support on other matters as assigned by the AGC. This position focuses on supporting Ravago's businesses in the U.S. and Canada and offers a unique opportunity to contribute strategically to Ravago's initiatives, leveraging expertise to drive successful working atmosphere in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

1. Area of Focus (In order of percentage of time spent on activity, importance and/or priority)
a) Act as a trusted advisor and liaison to Human Resources and other departments regarding employment issues across the organization.
b) Investigate internal and external employment-based complaints and prepare responses to outside entities, with and without support of outside legal counsel.
c) Draft, review, and revise employment and other related contractual agreements.
d) With assistance of outside counsel, assist with strategy and representation of Ravago entities in formal employment charges and litigation.
e) Provide assistance and work with other attorneys in the department on various projects.
f) Provide prompt responses to requests for employment advice, demonstrating agility and efficiency in meeting business needs.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
1. Education:
a. Juris Doctorate degree required from a U.S. ABA-accredited law school
b. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
2. Experience:
a. 5-7 years of employment practice required
b. Prior in-house experience is highly desirable
3. Licenses / Certifications:
a. Valid driver's license - required
b. Maintain an active and good-standing license to practice law in at least one U.S. State Bar
4. Language:
a. Proficiency in English required
b. Bi-Lingual - Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
