As a member of the legal department, provides advice and counsel to the Company in complex legal issues, supports day to day operations of the Company, and helps facilitate transactions and mitigate risk.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Negotiate, draft and advise on contracts and agreements related to organization's operations such as vendor agreements, customer agreements, licensing agreements and confidentiality agreements.
- Research legal issues as needed.
- Handle contract disputes, collection efforts and assist with litigation when needed.
- Assist with managing legal entities and state registrations.
- Support legal and regulatory compliance.
- Support strategic transactions such as collaborations, acquisitions and divestitures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree from an accredited law school with a license to practice law in house in North Carolina or Colorado.
- Minimum of ten years' experience with contract drafting and negotiations and other elements of in-house practice.
- Familiar with contracting in the biotechnology or pharmaceuticals industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical conduct.
- Ability to (i) understand and digest complex scenarios in order to identify relevant issues and risks, (ii) propose solutions that take into consideration the relevant business objectives, and (iii) communicate those issues, risks and solutions clearly and concisely to lawyers and non-lawyers alike.
- Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and complete multiple assignments in a timely and professional manner is required.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task, processing multiple transactions to satisfactory completion is required.
SALARY RANGE: $175,158-$240,843
Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
