Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret cost accounting data to identify areas of potential cost reduction or improvement in operational efficiency.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports to provide management with accurate financial information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cost control measures and process improvements.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies between budgeted and actual costs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, ensuring that physical inventories match recorded costs.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities by providing cost projections and recommendations based on historical data.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain standard cost systems and analyze the impact of changes in production processes or materials.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior cost accountants, ensuring their adherence to accounting principles and procedures.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably for a large manufacturing company
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel. Experience with Power BI preferred

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
