POSITION SUMMARY:
AtriCure is looking for an experienced document and Records management professional to establish and lead a program that addresses the lifecycle management of Documents and Records in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and procedures.
This new position at AtriCure will manage the execution of the corporate document system for company-wide policies and related procedures, and support corporate records management processes, including physical and electronic records. This position will work in collaboration with the entire organization, including IT and the Quality Management System (QMS) document and Records management teams (though will not be responsible for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) related documents). This position will champion best practices for document and Records management to ensure all policies and associated documents are correctly developed and executed within the assigned system. In this role, this person will maintain the central policy management process, records storage, retrieval, and disposition, and facilitate the corporate record retention schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Maintain the global Document and Records Management program to reduce risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws, Company policies and business needs.
- Be an advisor and support the revision and creation of corporate policies and procedures through a document change process. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring, routing, document processing, and formatting of documents.
- Develop and implement training programs to educate AtriCure employees on how to identify, maintain, preserve, and dispose of information consistent with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Suggest revisions for policy and retention schedules as necessary due to the needs of the Company and/or changes in law or policy.
- Collaborate with the Legal Department, IT, Data Privacy, and other department functions as necessary regarding Program development plans.
- Facilitate location and production of records as needed for legal proceedings, investigations, subpoenas, etc.
- Continually assess and implement improvements to processes and services for scalability.
- Perform duties in liaison with other teams related to physical records management including archival activities as well as facilitate shipments to/from our 3rd party records service.
- Work with the Information Technology team on initiatives related to Information Asset Management and information enterprise structures.
- Support the process within the firm’s Information Governance (IG) Team’s scope, such as data classification and labeling, record retention and deletion.

- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills to manage multiple tasks with an ability to prioritize.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work with and communicate confidently with all levels of staff and management.
- Experience in developing and maintaining records policies including records identification, retention schedule management, litigation holds, and content management systems.
- Ability to establish strong relationships with key business partners and functions including Legal, Privacy, Information Technology, and Risk Management.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, synthesize, and interpret information from multiple sources.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with the development and implementation of a Program.
- Knowledge of current and emerging laws, regulations, and standards related to Information Governance.

- Bachelor’s degree required or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Five (5) years experience in records and document management on an enterprise level
- Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems or Records Management Systems
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and collaboratively implement changes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent knowledge of document scanning workflow and processes
- Must be skilled in Microsoft Office and office productivity applications
- Utilizes interpersonal skills in maintaining balance with all departments’ requirements and priorities.
- Industry certifications (i.e. Certified Records Analyst or Essentials of Records and Information Management Certificate)
- Knowledge of records and information management practices related to privacy requirements, eDiscovery, and litigation standard methodologies
- Knowledge of current and emerging laws, regulations, and standards related to Information Governance.
- Experience with information asset management and governance processes
- Project management skills
