Senior Contract Manager/Senior Consultant (Remote)
Responsible for a broad scope of services for leading utilities, developers, and investors within the renewable sector

This is a remote based role reporting to the President, Americas on a day-to-day basis and to the Director, Legal & Contract Management on a functional basis.

Areas of Responsibility:
Your role, as a Senior Contract Manager/Senior Consultant, would encompass a variety of K2 Managements key services, primarily within the growing North American market. Your expertise will be leveraged across project development, contract management, contract and commercial advisory and due diligence. Depending on the project scope and clients needs, you will bring your holistic view of the North American renewables market to lead such tasks as those outlined below:
Contract Management/Project Development is an exciting growth area for K2, both within the U.S. and globally. In this capacity, you would lead and execute all efforts for our clients; sample activities include the following:
Act as primary client interface with your area of expertise, exemplifying K2Ms commitment to service, communication, collaboration, and high performance.
Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of clients, including drafting RFPs, soliciting bids from third-party vendors, and supporting clients in vendor selection and negotiations.
Draft and manage commercial contracts, including terms and conditions, on behalf of clients.
Acquire detailed knowledge of contract terms to mitigate risk and ensure contract compliance on behalf of clients.
Review contracts and prepare interpretations of terms and conditions throughout project development and operation for the benefit of K2 Project Managers and the clients team.
Provide contract administration support to K2 Project Managers and/or our clients, including claims and variation management and negotiation.
Provide negotiation support on land leases, grid interconnection, offtake agreements, and procurement.
Support the permitting process at the local, state, and federal levels.
Support site-specific compliance with regulatory requirements.
Assist with efforts to secure transmission and interconnection rights from utilities and transmission providers.
Participate in the preparation of proposals that are submitted to power purchasers, including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial and industrial customers.
Advisory and due diligence support; sample activities include the following:
Partnering with the President, Americas, to provide input on the market strategy for growing K2s pipeline.
Participate in Due Diligence projects through the careful review of permits, power contracts, interconnection agreements, etc.
Periodically lend subject matter expertise to K2s corporate matters, including review of non-disclosure agreements and contracts with current and potential clients.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues.
Across the above service areas, support the President, Americas in the development of the North American customer base and represent K2 in meetings with potential and current clients.
Expected travel: estimated at ~10-20%, depending on client demand and project needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree is required; advanced degree (J.D.) strongly preferred (J.D.).
Minimum of eight (6) years of professional, post-graduate experience within the legal, contract management, or procurement function.
Recent experience as a Contract Manager with responsibility for contract drafting, negotiation, management, and close-out.
Prior industry experience from the wind, solar, or broader power generation sectors.
Prior experience as a consultant or similar client-focused environment.
