The Senior Content Strategist plays a critical role in making Red Hat's product documentation a competitive differentiator across the end to end user journey. The Content Strategist leads the creation and implementation of a comprehensive user-centered strategy that defines content deliverables to support key business objectives, and reviews high-level development scoping information to determine initial resource requirements. The Content Strategist works with all content stakeholders including user experience, product management, content service, customer experience, and digital experience teams to ensure Red Hat content provides an outstanding customer experience.
What you will do: - Lead and contribute to change efforts and special initiatives for the Customer Content Services team
- Lead people and projects in an open way that inspires confidence; demonstrate negotiation, leadership and influencing capabilities
- Define content strategy recommendations based on user personas, their journey with Red Hat products, content standards, needed improvements, integrations with other products and content gaps
- Independently manage and iterate the Content Strategy
- Understand the end-to-end impact of content decisions and strategy, not just within Customer Content Services, but on other teams such as Digital Experience or Support
- Foster relationships with content stakeholders across Red Hat so that content strategies of different teams are aligned
- Review high-level development scoping information and determine initial resource requirements to support initiatives
- Socialize and obtain approval for a content strategy from stakeholders and the documentation team members
- Drive continuous content improvement efforts, for example, by identifying new content or content types that better support users or by prioritizing customer-related bugs and feedback from customer-facing stakeholders
- Support the documentation program managers and technical writers as they develop, socialize and get approval for plans to achieve the quality standards identified in the content strategy and drive successful implementation of the content plans
- Assess the audience for your program deliverables and internal presentations and communicate clearly, concisely, confidently and effectively in written and verbal communications
- Demonstrate complex problem solving and negotiation skills in resolving cross-functional issues within the program and documentation teams
- Curate content for display on the product and services hub pages on the Red Hat Documentation website for product releases
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 5+ years experience working with enterprise software documentation, either as a technical writer, information architect or Content Strategist
- Familiarity with structured, topic-based authoring, information architecture
- Experience working with diverse sets of stakeholders to solve complex problems
- Ability to influence irrespective of job title
- Familiarity with Red Hat's product portfolio a plus
- Experience in the enterprise software industry, including an understanding of the customer lifecycle and knowledge of different content development and publishing methodologies, tools and defect-tracking systems
