Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Commercial Interior Designerto join our dynamic team. As a Junior Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of Commercial Interior design projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience and further developing your skills. The ideal candidate should have a passion for interior design, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior designers and project managers to develop creative and innovative interior design concepts for commercial spaces, including offices, banks, multifamily housing and other commercial establishments.
- Assist in the creation of design presentations, mood boards, and material boards to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to clients.
- Conduct research and gather information on industry trends, materials, and products to stay up to date with the latest design innovations and best practices.
- Assist in space planning, including furniture layout, lighting design, and selection of finishes, fixtures, and equipment, while adhering to project budgets and timelines.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including construction drawings, specifications, and schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to obtain quotes, samples, and other project-related information, and assist in the procurement of furniture, fixtures, and finishes.
- Assist in project coordination and management tasks, including site visits, attending client meetings, and maintaining project documentation.
- Provide support in managing project schedules and deadlines, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating contractor and vendor submissions to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions, offering creative input and contributing to the overall success of the projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Commercial Interior design.
- NCIDQ certification required.
- Strong proficiency in design software such as Revit & Enscape.
- Excellent understanding of space planning, furniture, finishes, lighting, and material selections for Commercial Interiors.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to Commercial Interior design.
- Strong conceptual and visual presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards throughout the design process.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new design trends, software, and technologies.
