The CNC Machinist II will set up and operate CNC production equipment to support customer demand. The CNC Machinist II is a skilled, experienced machinist with the ability to perform most tasks independently, while seeking guidance or training for more critical tasks. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:  

  • At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service 

  • Effectively demonstrate the core values of SPM Oil & Gas at all times 

  • Follow all written policies and procedures safely without deviation or refer to upper management for guidance 

  • Exhibit and advocate exemplary safety culture at all times 

  • Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability and solid work ethic 

  • Setup and operate production equipment to support customer demand and meet on time delivery 

  • Inspect parts to regulate configuration control utilizing inspection gauging and instruments such as Mic’s, Calipers, Indicators, and Bore gages 

  • Possess working knowledge of cutting tools including speeds and feeds, boring, threading, milling, deep hole drilling and turning 

  • Ability to make and/or recommend adjustment to regulate part configuration both manually and through machine controls along with the understanding of basic shop formulas 

  • Extensive knowledge of blueprints reading and comprehension of provided manufacturing processes 

  • Wide breadth of multi-axis/multi-spindle CNC machining experience

  • Extensive machine setups

  • CNC operations and process improvements

  • On-the-job training and in-process assistance to junior CNC machinists

  • Contributes to a team environment by maintaining a positive attitude along with supporting a safe work environment and keeps work area neat and organized 

  • Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers

  • Maintain a professional appearance and work attitude at all times 

  • Must have the ability to perform independently or in a team setting  

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written  

  • Performs other duties as assigned 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

Physical Demands:   

  • Must frequently stand and reach with hands and arms 

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision
