Senior Cloud Engineer

As a senior member of the Cloud Engineering team, this position will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. The Senior Cloud Engineer’s expertise will drive innovation and enable delivery of cutting-edge solutions to our clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

• Lead the design and architecture of complex cloud solutions primarily in Microsoft Azure, considering performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and security measures.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement continuous integration and deployment pipelines, ensuring seamless application deployments and updates.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) templates using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure efficient utilization, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain robust security controls, identity and access management, and compliance standards across cloud environments.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud services, networking, and infrastructure components.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Cloud Engineers, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
• Collaborate with cloud service providers (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) to ensure alignment with best practices, access to support, and utilization of latest features.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and operational procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field preferred.
• Must have at least 4 - 6 years of related experience in Information Technology.
• Must have at least 3 – 4 years of experience in Microsoft Azure.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, networking, security, and storage. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Experience supporting major infrastructure migration initiatives is preferred. 
• Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience are helpful, but not required.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
