Job Description:

As a Senior Character Concept Artist you will support the vison of the character outsource team set forth by Art Leads and Art Directors by managing and creating a variety of character designs; including weapons, armor, pets, creatures, mounts, and more!

You will be responsible for creatively challenging early ideas through iteration and polish to give 3D Artists a blueprint and roadmap for success with minimal feedback.

This role requires a well-developed understanding of anatomy, shape language, and other art fundamentals as they relate to character art creation, and the World of Warcraft visual style.

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.

What you bring to the table:

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Create character art concepts for a variety of assets - weapons, armors, pets, creatures, mounts, and more
• Establish clear vision for 3D artists for minimal back-and-forth
• Collaborate closely other art, design, tech, and production teams
• Support with feedback and paint overs to ensure quality of Outsource Assets

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in game development concepting characters
• Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the World of Warcraft style
• Understand real-time game development needs
• A thorough understanding of 2D software

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
