This role will be based in at our headquarters facility located in Johnston, Rhode Island.
The Senior Business Process Improvement Consultant Serves as a leader in the organization to promote a culture which empowers employees to impact Process Improvement. They partner with business leaders to set a transformation strategy with accompanying executable roadmap. Improvement initiatives typically support multi-year objectives where scope is subject to change and contain significant risk, require a substantial number of resources in support of extremely complex business unit, corporate goals and organizational changes. The senior CI consultant is viewed as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and trusted to provide expert guidance to the continuous improvement team and drive strategic outcomes.
Responsible for orchestrating and leading multiple improvement initiatives across a value streams, departments and insurance operations to realize long-term goals in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
Responsibilities
• Apply systematic/structured approach to lead and identify underlying Process Improvements to be more efficient and effective and actively execute changes and enhancements.
• Ensure that initiatives are on track and that senior leaders and stakeholders are updated on progress and status. Document risks and issues and ensure mitigation activities are in place to minimize impact. Ensure alignment with interdependent efforts.Lead the build out and maintenance of consistent and scalable Continuous Improvement, process reengineering and Lean practices for the organization.
• Research continuous improvement and Lean industry best practices, approaches and techniques and develop strategies to implement at FM Global.
• Lead the design and facilitation large-scale, complex problem-solving sessions with a broad spectrum of stakeholders. Drive the preparation process including knowledge book development, stakeholder updates, and detailed agenda creation.
• Partner with business leaders to design an approach and develop an implementation strategy for a Lean management system. Coach Senior Business leaders on how to manage effectively in a Lean environment.
• Build management routines for a division to monitor OKRs and cascading business metrics and support corrective action and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide coaching to the CI team by prioritizing focus areas, defining deliverables and ensuring measurable results. Drive day-to-day delivery of team priorities, while also maintaining a big-picture strategic perspective.
• Interact effectively with all levels of the organization; develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Be recognized as Subject Matter Expert on Lean, process reengineering, and continuous improvement.
• Champion and promote the use of Lean and continuous improvement standards and best practices across the organization.
• Coach and Mentor others in the organization and consult, train and advise on these skills sets.
• Proactively Lead the buildout and improvement of continuous improvement standards and continuously improve them to ensure better outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Required
Graduate Degree Preferred
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in continuous improvement, project management, and change management roles with successful track record of leading large-scale programs over multi-year timeframes.
  • Experience operating within a corporate CI/Lean environment and building out new approaches, artifacts, and strategies to improve program and change implementation.
  • Experience driving large enterprise level improvement programs, requiring large scale change management, and demonstrated strength as an enterprise change agent.
  • Advanced Lean or Continuous Improvement certification (e.g., Black Belt or Master Black Belt)

The hiring range for this position is $126,800 to $182,300. The final salary offer will vary based on geographic location, individual education, skills, and experience.
