Job Summary:
The Senior Business Development Manager supports the firm's Practice and Industry groups in the creation of marketing content and implementation of marketing and Business Development programs, campaigns, and initiatives that highlight firm experience, and enhance brand awareness. They collaborate closely with attorneys, the Senior Director of Business Development, and the larger Business Development team to ensure all Practice and Industry focused marketing is relevant, timely and consistent.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain Practice and Industry group marketing content including group standard marketing collateral, PG/IG overviews, experience lists, biographies, website content, and client presentations, as well as lead the development of supporting videos, and podcasts.
  • Develop and execute effective marketing and Business Development plans and initiatives for Practice and Industry groups aligned with the respective groups' strategic objectives and brand positioning. Identify supporting KPIs and report on progress.
  • Partner with attorneys on creating engaging and relevant content that highlights firm Practice and Industry group experience and provides insights on important labor and employment issues and trends.
  • Collaborate with group leaders in identifying group members to support creation of CLE presentations, client alerts, white papers, and other substantive content.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans in support of practice group tool and product offerings.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor marketing activity and apply knowledge gleaned to differentiate Practice and Industry group marketing strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using data-driven insights to inform and optimize future efforts.
  • Collaborate with the proposal team and attorneys to draft targeted responses to RFPs and prepare customized pitch/proposal material highlighting relevant Practice and Industry group experience.
  • Collaborate with Communications to ensure a cohesive social media strategy that aligns with Practice and Industry group plans and marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and Events in the development of practice/industry group firm events, as well as identify relevant external events, sponsorships, and programs that support Practice and Industry group plans and strategy.
  • Ensure brand and product standards, tone, voice, and style are adhered to across all channels.
  • Manage Practice and Industry groups marketing and Business Development budgets.

Skills and Educational Requirements:
  • Experience developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns, including lead generation from content marketing
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences, platforms, and channels
  • Experience in developing and managing proposals, pitches and presentations for existing clients and client prospects
  • Strong project management, organizational, an analytical skill, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a demanding environment
  • Creative, innovative analytical person with the ability to generate new ideas and solutions
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse business services units and stakeholders across the firm
  • Experience in using marketing tools and software such as CRM, CMS, email and web marketing analytics and design tools
  • Detail-oriented, attentive to nuance and tone in marketing content
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 10+ years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree or professional certification a plus.

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $163,636 and $188,182. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
