Department Overview

GTB is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with top tier organizations. We offer innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade finance needs. The business constantly changes with macroeconomic conditions, unprecedented levels of innovation, interest rate environments, and foreign exchange movements. As a result, all GTB business lines continue to evolve to provide optimum trade finance, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients. GTB is comprised of four business lines: Global Trade Finance (“GTF”), Corporate Cash Management (“CCM”), Financial Institutions (“FI”), and Export and Agency Finance (“EAF”).
Job Description
TDS has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation and expansion of GTB’s product suite to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi-currency treasury provider, enabling significant business growth across the TDS franchise. Accordingly, the need for a strong and efficient delivery of a large-scale project to deliver on this objective is required. The GTB Product Transformation team is responsible for owning and developing upon GTB’s product and service capabilities and roadmap for expansion across the entire product delivery lifecycle, championing the business and client as subject matter experts.
Reporting to the Vice President (Lead Product Manager), the successful candidate will be responsible for key business analysis activities to deliver on various product roadmaps critical to GTB’s strategic goals.

The successful candidate will:

  • Champion the user journey of new product initiatives working collaboratively with stakeholders from the business, technology, operations, risk, governance & control
  • Document user stories/requirements, business process flows, product materials, user guides, and training materials (for both clients and internal staff) as applicable
  • Proactively identify and manage requirement risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints
  • Work with UX/UI delivery partners to design a differentiated user experience for GTB’s sophisticated client base, applying the principles of design thinking and user-centered design
  • Develop and maintain product-line and channel reporting to track/monitor product and channel usage that drive key insights to help inform product development and identify opportunities; perform ad-hoc data analysis and create reporting as required to inform decision-making; support developing and monitoring product OKR’s and KPI’s
  • Support quality assurance activities including development of test strategies and plans, and assessment and resolution of bugs/defects
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the GTB products and of client needs, competitive landscape, and trends in GTB industry to assist in identifying new opportunities
  • Champion an intelligence culture that empowers the organization evaluate client needs, market trends, competitor movements, and determine TD’s actions & priorities
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using Waterfall and Agile product methodologies (i.e. User Journeys, User Stories, Backlog grooming, KPIs, etc.) and tools (i.e. Jira and Confluence) to implement large scale change
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), including ability to formulate impactful methods of communication
  • Results oriented with ability to manage and solve problems in ambiguous or unclear situations
  • Highly detailed with a sense of responsibility
  • Proactive, positive attitude, and desire to learn
  • Deep passion to create and lead meaningful change

Job Details

  • Works independently but receives assistance/coaching from more senior levels
  • Coaches other team members, as appropriate, within area of expertise
  • Identifies, develops, and maintains key linkages with business partners including the retail product management, retail distribution, commercial banking, support services and North American business partners such as TD Wealth Management, TD Ameritrade and TD Insurance
  • Helps senior management by giving insightful and pro-active reporting and analysis and various corporate and business line initiatives
  • Works with line of business team members/ resource
  • Resolves issues and problems by conferring with staff, management, other internal departments, outside contacts as necessary
  • Works cross-functionally as required to drive strategic initiatives and improve processes
  • Adds financial value to company by analyzing company data to identify and recommend initiatives that positively and materially impact the financial results of the company

Additional Information
  • Experience in the following is considered an asset:
    • Transaction banking, wholesale banking, financial technology, treasury, or payments
    • Product and/or project management
    • Understanding of modern technical and architectural principles (e.g. Cloud, APIs, microservices)
    • Understanding the end-to-end flow of the client, bank, and customer value chain
    • IIBA® Agile Analysis Certification (AAC) or other relevant Agile BA certification
    • CSPO® Certified Scrum Product Owner or other relevant Product certification
