We are currently looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our #OneTeam in California.
What you'll be doing:
As the Senior Backend Developer, you will work on our Technology - Innovations & Solutions Team and report to our Senior VP of Innovation & Solutions. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our back-end systems. Additionally, you will focus on building scalable, maintainable solutions that are easily expandable to meet the evolving needs of our projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, to gather and understand project requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust back-end systems using Node.js with Express, IDM/SSO, Mongo DB, and MQTT.
- Implement secure and efficient authentication and authorization mechanisms using standard IDP/SSO methods and protocols (Ex. OAuth).
- Optimize and fine-tune back-end services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Integrate with message broker systems like RabbitMQ and MQTT for real-time communication and data streaming.
- Write clean and well-documented code, following coding standards and best practices.
- Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers to ensure code quality.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, ensuring the seamless operation of back-end services.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve development processes.
What you'll need:
- 7+ years in a Backend Developer or similar role at a Technology company.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.
- Expertise in Containerization and Networking (Ex. Docker), Node.js with Express, Identity Management and Single Sign On (Ex. OAuth, SAML, LDAP, etc.), Mongo DB, RabbitMQ, and MQTT
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Highly organized with a focus on developing maintainable and scalable solutions.
- A passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and best practices in back-end development.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Nice to Have:
- A portfolio of past projects demonstrating your development skills is a plus.
- Prior experience at a new / start-up company.
$125,000 - $150,000 a year
