The IT Associate will support RWE Clean Energy employees, providing assistance on request. In this internal, customer-facing and business-essential role, the IT Associate will provide technical advice and support, troubleshoot and resolve End User problems, and collaborate closely with our internal and external service providers in the US and Europe.
Responsibilities:
- Provide End User support on-site and remotely (e.g., users located at OT sites), resolution of IT problems, troubleshoot laptops, desktop PC’s and cell phones
- Resolve and close tickets raised by users
- Raise requests with our corporate service providers and local suppliers; prioritize requests, follow up on open items, initiate escalations when necessary and communicate/provide transparency to all stakeholders
- Be the primary contact person for users and other stakeholders, including colleagues from overseas, finding sustainable solutions for IT challenges within the given frame of set parameters by RWECE’s leadership
- Work with third party vendors and/or parent company IT implementing site wide technology improvements
- Ensure smooth on- and off-boarding of users, manage IT Inventory (e.g., users, hardware, and phone lines), and coordinate with other departments including HR
- Purchase new equipment/hardware and software when required, raise purchase requests in SAP and other tools, analyze and compare prices, and perform the required expense reporting
- Prepare and manage hardware: imaging, backup, system recovery, software installation and system administration, and maintain client database
- Create useful job aids, knowledgebase articles and standard operating procedures (SOP) with a goal to decrease escalated tickets
- Help establish and comply with service level agreements supporting key performance metrics for End User support
- Train and on-board additional/temporary IT Staff and perform training sessions for new users
- Generate ideas on process improvements
- Respond appropriately to IT security threats, communicate with our central Cyber Emergency Response Team and take action when required
- Support other IT team members
- Maintain a safe work environment
- Perform other IT support duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in IT Support or related field strongly preferred
- High comfort and proven experience with direct user interaction and the ability to establish formal and informal relationships with multiple stakeholders of different cultural backgrounds
- Experience in corporate, medium to large company environment, including coordination of interfaces to multiple suppliers/service providers preferred
- Very strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 Administration and state-of-the-art software, including MS Office
- Ability to quickly get comfortable with lesser-known special software
- Proven experience in managing high-pressure situations as well as the ability to prioritize tickets/issues while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Experience with project based work both as individual contributor and project lead
- Knowledge of ITIL preferred
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred
- Strong hardware knowledge/technical skills
- Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $75,000 - $110,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
