Description:

Working with the Executive Director of Development and the Director of Annual Giving, the Senior Associate Director will be responsible for dollar growth, setting strategy and directing key programs. They will also help supervise, develop and mentor the Assistant Director, GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Group Programs/Student Philanthropy.

This is a senior position charged with leading all elements of Leadership Giving for the Hamilton Fund, one of the top performing college Annual Giving programs in the US. This is a full-time, exempt position with a pay range of $80,000 - $90,000.

They will be responsible for:

  • With a strong understanding of data analytics and donor solicitation strategies, initiating and leading the Hamilton Fund Leadership Giving Program, including:
    • Managing a portfolio of leadership giving prospects within the Hamilton Fund, to qualify, steward and develop them to secure, retain and upgrade Hamilton Fund Leadership level gifts ($2,500-$10,000), developing a pipeline of major gift prospects
    • Implementing Leadership Giving initiatives such as the current use scholarship and Rising Stars programs
    • Supervising the 1812 Leadership giving program
    • Must be able to travel regularly to engage prospects on an individual and small group basis
  • Using data analytics tools to track, analyze and report on dollar growth and development.
  • Coordinating the efforts of all Annual Fund officers to retain and upgrade gifts of $1,000 or more annually to the Hamilton Fund. Lead prospect strategy and assignment and training for new AFOs.
  • Direct the Assistant Director, GOLD Group Programs/Student Philanthropy in implementing programs directed to the ten most recent classes through class management, prospect management and regional events, and to current students, especially through the Senior Gift Campaign.
  • Working with the Development Leadership Team, coordinating efforts by the Individual Giving Team to increase donations to the Hamilton Fund.
  • Initiate and lead the Hamilton Fund Leadership Giving program:
    • Managing portfolio, including travel (70% of above)
    • Leadership Giving Initiatives and 1812 programs, including travel (30% of above)
  • Dollar strategy and reporting (15% of time allocation):
    • Under the direction of the Development Leadership Team, develop strategies to increase Leadership Giving to the College and create a pipeline of major gift prospects.
    • Use internal data tools to track and report progress.
  • Coordinate the prospect management efforts of all Annual Fund officers, including training and strategy (10% of time allocation):
  • Direct and mentor the Assistant Director (20% of time allocation)
  • Coordinate with Individual Giving Team (5% of time allocation)
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

 


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree; master’s desirable.
  • Demonstrated direct fund-raising, political campaign or constituent management and/or sales experience, including program management, or comparable experience in a business, nonprofit or related setting

  • Experience devising and managing fund-raising or similar sales programs

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, paying close attention to detail while meeting deadlines
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Capacity to master new software, especially the GiveCampus VMS platform and the Ellucian Colleague/Advancement database
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment
