This is a Full-Time Role (40 hours per week) with no option for part-time work. While this is a remote-first opportunity, the candidate filling this role must be a resident of Canada, California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, or New York at the start of employment. About the Opportunity

The Marketing & Communications team plays an integral role in amplifying the impact of the B Corp community and realizing B Lab's global vision of inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance operational, programmatic, and growth objectives, while working to advance B Lab U.S. & Canada's Theory of Change: building on a foundation of stakeholder governance, businesses can and must play a leading changemaker role to address climate justice and racial inequity. Our marketing and communications efforts engage B Corps in the work necessary to shift narratives, reform business practices, and affect the policies under which business operates. The Marketing & Communications team is responsible for the health of the B Corp brand, while ensuring consistent measurement around awareness, engagement and impact. We also work closely with B Lab Global and Global Partners to ensure a consistent global brand, build credibility of the certification, and engage in collective action campaigns relevant to both our region and the global community.

The Senior Associate, Digital Marketing will work across the organization to execute our Digital Marketing strategy, with emphasis on our website and email marketing tactics. The role will specialize in creating high-quality web pages and email communications that exemplify our brand identity, messaging, and tone. This includes ideation, content creation support, drafting pages in WordPress, stakeholder management (if needed), and seeing a webpage through to publication with the goal of promoting the work of B Lab and Certified B Corporations in the U.S. and Canada. 
The role will support and execute on other Digital Marketing functions such as campaign toolkit launches, fielding and organizing content for web pages and newsletters, SEO, Pardot landing pages, small WordPress website updates, managing various aspects of our marketing automation system (Pardot) and the implementation of drip campaigns. This position will report to the Associate Director, Marketing Operations and work collaboratively within the Marketing & Communications team, particularly with the Senior Manager, Content and Communications and the Art Director.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills; possesses analytical acumen; and can show a track record of success in the Digital Marketing field. The ideal candidate has experience in an email/ CRM system, experience with content management systems (preferably WordPress), and is process-oriented with a strong attention to detail. This person should also have excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a comfort with adapting to shifting priorities.


Core Responsibilities 

Content Creation: Website & Marketing Campaigns: (35%)

  • Create high-quality web pages in WordPress that exemplify our brand identity and tone. This includes ideation, content creation support, drafting page, stakeholder management (if needed), and seeing the page through to publication.
  • Create and update marketing campaign website landing pages.
  • Work with teams across the organization to keep our website up-to-date (i.e. menus, page content, etc.) with the latest information. 
  • Support on campaign launches including marketing materials and toolkit preparation.
  • Create and update resource landing pages in our marketing automation system.
  • Support with SEO work through meeting participation, inputs, and implementing recommendations. 
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager, Content & Communications on French Canadian translations.

Email Marketing (30%):

  • Build and send emails and newsletters in our email marketing automation tool (Pardot) with support from Senior Manager, Content and Communications.
  • Manage email calendar and create methods to share visibility of communications sent across the network to maximize coordination across teams and avoid overusing lists.
  • Compile relevant content from all teams, the B Corp community, and external stakeholders to include in each newsletter.
  • Manage email preferences, list auditing and segmentation, identifying key engagement opportunities for different audiences across the movement.
  • Support in the implementation and updating of drip campaigns.
  • If needed, provide training and guidance to colleagues across our organization when it comes to Pardot usage.

Social Media Execution [15%]

  • Execute Digital Marketing strategies to drive paid media promotion on social channels.
  • Create and manage social media advertising campaigns across various platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Optimize campaigns through A/B testing, targeting adjustments, and budget allocation to improve ROI.

Analytics & Reporting (15%):

  • Establish and roll out consistent URL tracking capabilities in line with up-to-date best practices, allowing the team to maximize the value of our digital activities. 
  • Support with data inputs to our marketing dashboard.
  • Report out email marketing and website metrics to teams on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and analyze social media campaign performance data, providing actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness.

Miscellaneous (5%)

  • Manage customer support tickets related to marketing and communications in Freshdesk.
  • Support with Digital Marketing for our events as needed
  • Incorporate justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion into Digital Marketing processes and practices.
About You
  • At least 2 years of experience in an email/ CRM marketing focused role.
  • Experience with content management systems (preferably WordPress)
  • Demonstrable and relevant Digital Marketing experience, primarily in organic channels with a passion for all things digital.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a comfort with adapting to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to analyze data to understand the details and turn numbers into actionable insights.
  • Developing best practice email campaigns.
  • Proactive and creative problem solver with demonstrable ability to identify problems and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to drive consent and persuade across multiple stakeholders and views.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations, energized by building plans and engaging with stakeholders.  
  • Balancing decisiveness with understanding of local context and stakeholder needs.
  • Innovative & creative - the ability to bring "big" thinking to discussions, and in particular the knack for bringing this kind of thinking out of others.
  • Clear & concise written and verbal communication.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building relationships across teams
  • Comfortable with remote working, and working in a distributed team.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail.

The ideal candidate also:

  • Understand the value of certifications, while direct experience with B Corps is not required
  • Be an active listener with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a conceptual thinker with the ability to problem-solve and make balanced decisions
  • Have experience working with nonprofits, for profit businesses, and with multi-national organizations
  • Approach their work through a lens of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) 
  • Proficiency in other languages is not required but could be include in your application - Canadian French and Spanish are a plus
  • Experience working in a public affairs environment, non-profit, or policy/advocacy a plus
  • Exudes empathy, self awareness, and curiosity
Compensation Details

B Lab has a compensation plan that includes:

  • An annual salary of $68,000
  • Excellent health benefits package including access to medical, vision and dental coverage
  • Paid time off for vacation - in your first year, you'll start with 3 weeks (prorated in to your start date)
  • 403(b) with a match of up to 3%
  • Unlimited sick and personal time - if you need it, use it
  • After your first year of employment, 40 hours paid time off for community service; paid parental leave; and time and budget for your professional development (we assess this PD budget annually)
  • A remote first workplace
