About the Role

Boston University Enrollment Service Operations (ESO) seeks a Senior Assistant Director. The Senior Assistant Director works closely with the Office of the University Registrar to manage administrative functions, overseeing systems changes, solving system problems, assisting users with systems issues, acting as liaison between Office of the Registrar (OUR) and IS&T. This position develops applications based on business requirements and testing them for quality assurance. This oversees production calendar and output, act as a Data Security Administrator for the Office of the University Registrar. This role manages three full-time employees.

The Senior Assistant works closely colleagues within the Office of the University Registrar, Student Accounts, and Informational Systems & Technology. The role has significant interaction and leadership with individuals and teams, such as subject matter experts, managers, and technical staff in support of the work. This role reports directly to the Associate Director of Registrar Systems.

The Sr. Assistant Director’s primary duties include:

  • Developing specifications and business requirements for modifications and enhancements to the system
  • Managing data for audit needs and audits used for degree verification
  • Implementing new program requests approved by the Provost Office
  • Training for the Academic Data Warehouse
  • Reviewing and authorizing access requests

Boston University Enrollment Service Operations is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). BU Enrollment Service Operations plays a critical role in ENSA’s mission; enrolling and retaining students, by supporting and designing operational and technical infrastructure to support the student user experience. Boston University is transitioning to a PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions student information system.

About the Candidate

A bachelor’s degree is required for this position. We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Has three to five years of experience, with two years of management experience
  • Has experience leading cross functional teams and projects
  • Has experience with process improvement
  • Possesses excellent analytical and communication skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail
  • Has the ability to learn and use software tools
  • Is comfortable taking initiative, working independently, and handling multiple simultaneous projects and assignment
  • Is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Work experience in a college or university and experience using Campus Solutions are preferred but not required.
