Position Overview:
Sr. Application Engineer, AV & Network Technologies will work with high performance Audio\Video streaming across IP networks to meet the strategic objectives of our customers. This includes both pre and post sales design, implementation, and support as well as validation of emerging technologies. This position will focus primarily on Extron’s AV Streaming and Control products that leverage network technology.
Responsibilities:
- Review system requirements to ensure understanding, accuracy, completeness, and feasibility.
- Participate in formal design and implementation activities ensuring performance and adherence to standards and best practices.
- Serve as an escalation point for general AV Extron product support.
- Work across multiple teams to test and troubleshoot issues, validate new products and technologies, and provide solutions, designs, recommendations and supporting documentation.
- Create appropriate technical documentation for the task assigned.
Required Experience:
- BS degree in EE, CE, CS, IT or ET or equivalent experience in the Audio Visual or IT industry.
- 5+ years of experience supporting, designing and commissioning AV Systems
- 3+ Years of hands-on experience developing, deploying and supporting AV over IP Systems
- Experience in creating technical solutions and in working with multiple business units and solution teams to leverage multiple technologies.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively and in a timely manner.
- Able to provide strategic consulting to our Sales, Product Management, Delivery teams as well as customers for network design and requirements.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, (written, and verbal).
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross departmental team environment.
- Strong attention to details, highly organized.
- Some travel will be required.
Desired Skills
- Experience with IP network design and implementation.
- Familiarity with Multicast and PTP
- Experience working with multiple vendors and multi-vendor network environments.
- Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting streaming media systems.
- Previous Extron AV and Control experience a plus.
- Video and audio encoding/decoding, compression technology.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
