01/09/2023DEFINITION: Under general supervision, provides administrative support and assistance for a department or director within Sunnyside Unified School District.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:
Compiles information and prepares forms and reports; maintains and updates paperwork and files; organizes and distributes materials as needed; keeps records (at a level of confidentiality) according to area of assignment; maintains budget funds; controls incoming/outgoing telephone calls; maintains database including lists of staff absences and student services, reports and minutes; prepares and maintains required documentation in compliance with State and Federal laws.
Interacts and communicates with District administrators, school personnel and the public; maintains attendance records; copies and distributes staff and student travel documentation to school directors and departments; enters supply requisitions in computer system; routes mail and messages; coordinates and schedules meetings, appointments and conferences; interprets policies and regulations; and performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge of daily school office operations.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs.
Skill in the use of a personal computer.
Skill in organizing schedules and meetings and preparing letters and reports.
Skill in communicating with the public effectively.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor and lifting up to 15 pounds.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years secretarial experience. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Collect student data, correct data and run data reports for ADE (i.e. Special Ed Data, Integrity reports, State/province reports)
Conduct compliance checks for IEPs and METs
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: J Hourly Pay: $18.95 Hours per Day: 8 Day in Contract: 260
