Job Summary
The University of Southern Indiana seeks applicants for a full-time, benefit-eligible Senior Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the Food and Nutrition Program in the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide support the the Program Chair and faculty, including credit card use and reconciliation, collection and collation of accreditation documents and curriculum documents.
- Provide instructional support for program faculty.
- Assist advising coordinators with information sessions, pre-registration, and registration.
- Provide support for the Technology Team.
- Establish and maintain student files and databases to facilitate student selection and orientation.
- Provide support for program selection processes.
- Maintain and track health documentation for practicum students.
- Assist in development, maintenance, and improvement of the student information system by establishing files on new students; entering in database programs; updating statistics, preparing current lists, mailing labels, and sheets of statistical data from the file for reports.
- Coordinate inventory of program supplies, materials, resources, and classroom equipment.
- Order new supplies and equipment, and place in inventory.
- Respond to written and oral queries about the program.
- Assist in budget development and implementation.
- Contribute to the update of student and faculty handbooks.
- Coordinate course scheduling, section changes, room scheduling, and book orders.
- Help maintain program and course websites.
- Assist in program evaluation as needed.
- Manage off-campus food and supply, and product acquisition duties as need for program(s) and student organization.
- Frequently access various departments, classrooms and off-campus locations for purchase and transport of program supplies. Requires the ability to drive and maintain a valid driver's license.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
- Two years of office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Knowledge of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases required. Knowledge of Banner a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Eagerness to learn new activities, openness to new ideas, and quick to learn new tasks required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities required.
- Spirit of cooperation and ability to work as a team required.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
- Strong customer service skills required.
