POSITION TITLE: Senior Accounting Manager
LOCATION: Mission Valley, CA (Hybrid - In office on Mondays and Wednesdays)
COMPENSATION: $125-142k
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Accounting Manager will plan and direct the day-to-day accounting activities of the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams and be an individual contributor for higher level / complex accounting processes and analyses.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
- Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Leads team that is responsible for accounting and accounts payable
- Works with direct reports to establish goals and objectives for each year, and then monitors and provides advice to enhance the professional development
- Coordinates training for new team members and identifies training and development opportunities for current team members
- Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintains a thorough understanding of and control over the financial reporting and general ledger structure and systems
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Assist in development and implementation of new and improved processes and procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
- Ensure accurate and timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes, leading the group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Responsible for Internal Payroll accounting
- Responsible for monthly financial statement consolidation, including International entities
- Reviews Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Guides staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Collaborates with the other department managers to support overall company goals and objectives
- Responds to inquiries from the Controller and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc
- Supports Controller with special projects
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience managing and supervising an accounting team
- Accounting degree from a 4 year accredited university
- 7-10 years in private industry reviewing and analyzing financial statements is preferred but not required
It would be great if you had these:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License is strongly
- Proficient in Workday Financials
- International accounting experience
- Experience with process documentation, internal control testing, risk assessment, and SOX
- 3 years with a public accounting firm performing review and audit work
