POSITION SUMMARY
This position will supervise the Accounts Payable/Receivable and Payroll functions. This position is also responsible for Annual, Quarterly, Monthly and ad-hoc report, and financial statement preparation. Enforcement of appropriate accounting methods, policies and principles. Monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Investigation and resolution of problems detected through the reconciliation process, and the preparation of journal entries following established accounting policies and procedures for Friend Health and all subsidiary companies. Provide technical accounting support and oversight for significant and complex transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and others as well as new accounting standards.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties
- Reconcile balance sheet balances each month to appropriate supporting detail, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Follow up on problems detected during the reconciliation and month end process through to final resolution.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and advise the Controller of potential problems with documents being processed.
- Responsible for the management and reconciliation of fixed assets
- Responsible for Lease Accounting entries and reconciliation
- Responsible for monthly investment reports and reconciliation of statements
- Responsible for the reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card accounts
- Responsible for preparing annual audit reports and schedules including, but not limited to SEFA, fixed assets, grant revenue, long-term debt, etc.
- Responsible for oversight of grant reconciliation processes
- Any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor.

Work may involve the use of automated information systems, which may include keyboard computer terminals, telephones, battery-operated devices, heat-copying devices, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA desirable
- 6-10 years of accounting experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with leadership acumen
- Strong desire to improve operations and efficiency
- Ability to accept ambiguity and uncertainty and create change on one's own
- Prior grant experience preferred but no necessary
