Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing and managing the financial activities within a manufacturing plant or facility. Their primary focus is on controlling costs, analyzing financial data, and ensuring accurate reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing costs and identify areas for cost reduction or optimization. Track variances between standard costs and actual costs.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts for the plant's operations. Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and corporate headquarters. Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
Cost Accounting: Maintain accurate cost accounting records, including standard costs, overhead allocations, and inventory valuation. Conduct regular cost audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Internal Controls: Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Conduct periodic internal audits to assess compliance with company policies and procedures.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making within the plant management team. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data and trends.
Tax Compliance: Assist with tax planning and compliance for the plant.
Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management. Provide financial support and analysis for new product launches, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives.
