Role Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and assist with forecasts. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Review, and implement modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Provide input into department's annual and quarterly goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and assist with budgets and forecasting
Assist with annual audits and regulatory filings, providing necessary documentation
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Key Qualifications
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, both public and private accounting ideal
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, statements, and awareness of business trends
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with familiarity of revenue recognition policies and procedures in compliance with accounting standards ASC 606
Quantitative mindset and ability to be agile and autonomous
Advanced Excel skills, including VLookup and pivot tables
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
High attention to detail and accuracy
Hands-on experience with accounting software, such as Quickbooks Online and Bill.com
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
